It’s relatively calm here at Berries, Beans & Beer HQ, tomorrow the hard graft starts with loading furniture, fridges and bars in to the Heritage Centre for unloading and setup to start on Monday. Tomorrow will probably be a tearing hair out kind of day when we discover what kit is missing or broken but got a few days in hand to hit the phones and see what we can beg and borrow!
With the sale of Offbeat Brewery we keep getting asked what’s happening with Berries, Beans & Beer after this year and at the moment there’s no real answer. The brewery has provided an outlet for beers and gins that weren’t finished at the festival and has underwritten the costs (you don’t want to see that bill!) for getting it up and running for the last two years. So it’s really a case of “wait and see”, the decision will be made at some point.
Like the brewery, there’s a lot of heart, soul and time goes in to Berries, Beans & Beer and we think Crewe needs it and embraced it so much last year. So many of our volunteers from last year signed straight up again for this, the other traders were contacting us to be involved and I didn’t have to beg my team of friends too much to help get the plans and help in place.
We are hugely grateful to our sponsors this year too; Hall Smith Whittingham, KFH Network, Prestige Motors, Tuk Tuk Creative Marketing, Otherton Ales and Independent Salford Beer Festival.
Best wishes, Michelle
